Berlin Tempelhof meets New Yorker High Line
The Berlin fashion fair Bread & Butter takes place in the reception area and hangar of the former Tempelhof Airport. For the fashion label Tom Tailor, we translated the trade fair booth designed by Dittel Architekten into reality in the shape of two levels with a total area of around 450 sqm.
The booth took the High Line New York as its theme. The now disused elevated rail track which once serviced the Meatpacking District in Manhattan, has been transformed into an exciting linear park high above the city’s rooftops which is greatly appreciated and used by New Yorkers and tourists alike. This urban American way of life is reflected in the Tom Tailor space, and visitors can enjoy a stroll through New York’s “urban jungle”. The defining and authentic materials used for the booth were the steel of the High Line and its plants, clinker brick, wood, brass and leather.
